Tuomas Takalo - Short Bio Currently I work as a Research Supervisor at the Monetary Policy and Research Department at the Bank of Finland). I also act as a (part-time) Professor of Economics at the School of Business and Economics at the University of Jyväskylä. I am also a member of research committee at the IPR University Center as well as an adjunct professor (i.e. 'dosentti' in Finnish) at the Helsinki School of Economics, Turku School of Economics and University of Oulu. My previous positions include that of the Director of the Finnish Doctoral Program in Economics and of the Editor-in-Chief of the Finnish Economic Papers, the seminal refereed economics journal with open access. I have been a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge and the Economics Departments at the Toulouse School of Economics, Boston University, and MIT. My graduate degree, Dr.Sc.(Econ.), is from the University of Helsinki. During my graduate studies I spent one year at the Economics Department at the University of Warwick. My research primarily deals with innovation, intellectual property, and financial economics. Its results are published in numerous academic books and journals, including the American Economic Review, RAND Journal of Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, International Tax and Public Finance and European Finance Review.
