Information about the course essays

- Max 40 points.

- The deadline for the essays is Sunday, MARCH 16, 2008

- Missing the deadline costs you 2 points per day (e.g. if I receive your essay on Monday, March 17, max score you can get is 38. The change of the day is calculated using Helsinki (EET) time zone (GMT+2hours)

- Send the essay to me (tuomas.takalo at bof.fi) I try to confirm receiving your essay in 24 hours. Include your name and the course title (as emphasized, using the wrong course title (you should know what is the wrong title by now) in communication with me costs you 1 point).

- Write 3-10 pages as clearly and coherently as possible about any topic even loosely related to the law and economics of intellectual property

- The choice of the topic is up to you. Please find here some more information and suggestions how to write an essay

A straightforward way to make an essay:

Choose a topic and a paper from below. Summarize and evaluate the chosen paper in your own words.  What is good in the paper? What is not so good? In the evaluation, you can use Scotchmer's book, real world experience, what has been said during during the course or in another article, etc. The more challenging (methodologically) paper you choose the more easier it is to gain points.
